The Place du Chatelet is surrounded by 2 theaters: the City theater and the Chatelet theater.
The "Palm" fountain reminds of Napoleon Ist's victories. Saint Denis street, starting from this point, will take you to the Halles area. There, the very shopping Louvre street will take you to the Louvre on one side, and to the Marais on the other side.
The Saint Jacques tower: located in the Saint Jacques garden, at the East of Chatelet. It's the only survival of Saint Jacques la Boucherie church which was built under François Ist reign, and it disappeared in 1802. It's the starting point for the route from Paris to Saint Jacques de Compostelle. With its 52m heigh, it offers from its top a beautiful view on Paris.
